Workouts

Tuscaloosa Triathletes workouts and training times are posted here.  If you know of a group who trains together, let me know and I will add them to this list.

Swimming

You can find some of the Tuscaloosa Triathletes at the natatorium (aquatic center) on the University of Alabama campus every weekday morning at 6am. The natatorium is on the corner of Paul Bryant Drive and Hackberry Lane and the cost to join is reasonable. In addition to two very nice pools, the natatorium has a pretty good weight room with aerobic and weight training equipment. And, it's not crowded like the Recreation Center, but some triathletes also swim, lift weights, and participate in aerobics and yoga classes here.

Biking

Our local bike club, Druid City Bike Club, has lots of organized rides.  Here is a listing from their web site:

Saturday - In October the Capital Park rides will begin at 8 am.

Monday - Sokol Park at 6:00 p.m. Meet in the gravel/red clay parking lot for a relaxed ride on the Sokol Park trail system. Ride time is 1 to 1.5 hours. Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced riders.

Sunday- Group rides out of Capitol Park at 2 pm.

Tuesday- Capital Park ride will begin at 3:30 pm.

Thursday- A 12 Noon Lunchtime ride will leave from the Rec. Center pool parking lot.

Thursday- Lake Lurleen Mountain bike ride 6 PM from the #1 Pavilion.

Friday- Capitol Park will begin at 3:30 pm.

We also have some folks who want to organize some rides and some bike-run bricks at other times. Post your preferences in the Training Forum.

There is some interest in doing a Saturday afternoon ride. If you are interested, post your preferences in the Training Forum.

Running

One running group meets at 5:30 am at the rec center on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This group runs about a 8 minute pace. Contact Chip Magner at LMagner@RandallPub.com if you have questions.

Another running group meets at 6:00 am at the YMCA on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This group runs about a 9 minute pace. Contact Amanda Beams at amanda@equitytitleco.net if you have questions.
